Flu activity in Montréal

The second wave of influenza A(H1N1) is over Happy New Year 2010!

The holidays are over and we're back! Results for participation in GrippeMontréal up to January 2 have now been compiled. The graph below compares the number of new ILI cases with other data on the flu.

Flu activity in the population had declined since the end of November, but numbers started going up slightly on December 20. This trend anticipated what was observed a week later regarding the number of admissions to emergency related to ILI. Your participation helps us detect, more and more rapidly, the increases and declines in flu activity in Montréal.

Although the second wave of influenza A(H1N1) has officially ended in Montréal, other respiratory viruses are going around.

To track the evolution of influenza and of other respiratory viruses, it's important to answer the weekly questions, whether or not you have flu-like symptoms.

If you didn't complete the questionnaires during the past few weeks, please do so now by clicking here.

Thanks and see you next week!
